Prior to studying design, I spent a number of years working in the cycling industry. So when Philip Gomes contacted me from Sydney Australia about designing a cycling related site, I was just a tad excited.
The result is spinopsys.com. Phil has a way with words that’s particularly well suited to blogging. His love for cycling comes through in everything he writes.

I wanted to do something a bit different with this site, something that would help new readers get deeper than just the first few posts. I asked my buddy Mike Stickel of screenflicker fame to write a plugin for wordpress that would allow us to show random posts from random categories front and centre on the home page. I’m very pleased with the results, and will be using this technique elsewhere shortly.
I’m very, very happy with how this site turned out. As a designer, the site fulfills my desire to offer effective ways of presenting information. As an artist, it satisfies my desire for balance and beauty. As a cyclist, it’s giving me the kick in the ass I need to get out of my office and onto my bike. This site sits at the top of my newsfeed. Nuff said.
