23 Ideas for Finding New Readers for Your Blog

Our friend Darren “Uber Blogger” Rowse just posted a collection of traffic building tips from his readers. Most of the points I covered last week in my article Eight tips to build QUALITY traffic are in there.
A couple of points that I think stand out are:
8. Be Opinionated – Trent writes – “Be opinionated, but encourage opposing viewpoints in the comments. Opinionated makes you interesting – encouraging other perspectives makes you essential.”
21. Newsletters – Adrian writes – “The Zookoda newsletter provides nice spikes and people tend to forward the newsletter to their friends.”
It’s worth noting that the number one point on Darren’s list is also the number one point on my list: Leave comments. Again, I’ve got to stress that you’ve got to have something to actually say in your comment. Leaving great comments takes practice. Aim to leave two or three quality comments per day, and you’ll see your site’s traffic level rise.
